Esther Tresser-Polanco, LMHC, LPC
I’ve been a therapist for over 20 years. I am a Licensed Mental Health
Counselor (LMHC) in New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey who has been in private practice since 2007. I provide counseling to individuals and couples located in NY, NJ, CT and FL. Having added the option of telehealth sessions to my practice, you no longer have to concern yourself with travel to and from therapy.
I ensure that you find therapy to be supportive, safe, and free of worries of judgement. Counseling is a collaborative process, and my warm, supportive, and interactive style will help to build trust and comfort so that we can explore the concerns bringing you to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from various therapeutic techniques in order to tailor sessions to you and your individual needs. Think of therapy as a road trip. You drive the car, and I’ll help you read the map, offering support and encouragement along the way.
While I see people for many different concerns, my practice focuses on infertility counseling, couples counseling, and women’s issues. Therapy can help you to develop healthy coping skills, gain clarity, make decisions, decrease sadness and worry, and increase your inner strength, your resilience. I strive to offer you an emotionally comfortable, validating place where you will be heard and supported while working on the changes and goals you desire.
I am an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG) who has chaired and been a member of numerous ASRM-MHPG committees and task forces. Additionally, I serve on the Advisory Board of the Jefferson Infertility Counseling Conference. I have received and continue to receive extensive post-graduate training in infertility, attend several infertility conferences annually, and participate in monthly, educational, fertility related teleconference calls through ASRM. I have been a presenter at various trainings over the years, including the annual Jefferson Infertility Counseling Conference.
